Rozhlasový Big band Gustava Broma (CZ)

The big band was founded by Gustav Brom in 1940, who was its leader until his death in 1995. His successor in the role is Vlado Valovič. The orchestra has won worldwide recognition throughout its history. American experts ranked it among the world’s Top 10 big bands in 1960’s.
The orchestra has always divided its time for popular music, where it played for most Czech mainstream singers, and for jazz. By performing “third stream” jazz, it would at times reach to the boundaries of classical music. Many stars of jazz and pop music have been guests to the band, including Dizzy Gillespie and Diana Ross.
