Ponk is a post-folklore dulcimer trio that’s been successfully breaking down prejudices about folk music. It’s not trying to devalue original folk songs with tacky clichés or superficial fusions. Instead, it uses a modest number of instruments (dulcimer, bass, violin and vocals) to produce interesting sounds – an eclectic combination of folk music with blues, rock, funk and R’n’B elements and influences from other musical styles. Just imagine the Czech band Hradišťan with a rock drive – sounds good, right?
